Our Story

1998 was the year that Seinfeld filmed his last episode, the Winter Olympics were in Nagano, Japan and U.S. President Bill Clinton, admitted that his relationship with ex-White House intern Monica Lewinsky, had become a little…'unprofessional'.

It was also the year that Ian Larsen and Steve Whelan formed a loose agreement to build 'stuff' when they finished up their last year of carpentry school in Kelowna, BC.

Fast forward to the present and Larsen Whelan have grown into a multi-faceted construction company, building some of the finest homes and commercial properties in the Fernie Region.

We sit on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Home Builders Association (Rocky Mountain Chapter), are a Licensed Residential Builder with the Home Owner Protection Office of British Columbia and are certified with the Built Green Society of Canada.

Of course, none of this would be possible without the dedication of our skilled team of 20+ Carpenters, Labourers, Project Managers and Support Staff.
